We want you to feel comfortable when you visit First United Methodist Church.
You will see people wearing a variety of clothing; from a suit and tie to jeans or shorts and a t-shirt
so dress in the clothes in which you are most comfortable.

Should I keep my children with me during worship service?
As a visitor, it is up to you if you feel comfortable introducing your child into a new setting.
Wiggles from children in and during the services are certainly not frowned upon!
Nursery is provided for infants – 4 years old;
We normally have a “children’s time” during our worship service that shares an age-appropriate message to our precious children.

What should I expect in worship?
During our services feel free to sit wherever you are comfortable. Our Ignite Contemporary Worship Service in the FLC features a live band playing popular contemporary Christian music. Visual technology is used to enhance the overall worship experience.
This service is casual and features messages relevant to everyday life.
Our Traditional Worship Service features traditional hymns accompanied by an organ and piano, responsive readings, prayers, and other affirmations that are found in the United Methodist Hymnal. The chancel choir assists with leading hymns and anthems.
The new Encounter Worship Service which meets in the student ministries center features modern acoustic music as well as messages and experiences designed to allow students and adults encounter the presence of God in different ways. Holy Communion will be served each week as well.

A monetary collection (God’s tithes and offerings), is collected in both worship service to help support the ministries of the church and mission projects. We do not ask that our guests feel obligated to contribute. Of course, we welcome you to participate in sharing should you wish. We receive Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month. You do not need to be a member of the United Methodist Church to receive. It is offered to all who desire a relationship with Christ and experience and grow in God’s love for themselves.
